Supervision while on site

Staff are responsible for the students when in class, they are not responsible to what goes on within changing rooms or waiting rooms due to them teaching within the studios. Once you enrol at Studio B it not only confirms your place for that specific term but also ensures you have a place in that class until YOU decide not to carry on.

Studio B will automatically keep your child enrolled in that class for the new/next term. If you want to cancel a specific class, you MUST you give a 4 week notice. Failure to give these 4 week notice period will mean you will be liable to pay for that class for the first 4 weeks of the term.

Studio B will ensure the timetables for the next term are emailed out well in advance so that if changes are being made you can give that 4 weeks’ notice. However, if you leave it to the last minute to inform us I’m afraid this is your error for not telling us in time and the 4 weeks payment will be due and added to our invoice

Other invoices-  These include private lessons/ summer schools/

Payment methods include- Bank Transfer (details on invoices) Go Cardless automated online payment, card machine at office and cash

Attendance

Children must arrive and be collected promptly. It is very important that children arrive in time for their classes, preferably 5 minutes before the start. This allows the group time to settle from the moment the class starts.

Where possible Studio B will aim to let people know of any changes in class or time with as much prior notice as possible. Where staff illness occurs, we try to cover lessons rather than cancelling them so sometimes changes may occur less than 24 hours’ notice.

Absence

Please let us know with as much notice as possible when a child will not be in attendance so that we can inform the relevant teachers and they have time to re-evaluate their planning. If multiple lessons are missed in a row we will email asking for your movements as a duty of care.

If you have booked a private lesson and can longer make it then you MUST give notice by 10am the day of the schedule private to either the principal/admin or the actual teacher taking the lesson.

This allows the office enough time to fill that allotted time, failure to do that will occur a full private lesson charge.

Cancelled Classes

Even though we endeavour not to do this, on occasions some classes may be cancelled due to circumstances beyond STUDIO B’s control. The administration team will endeavour to contact paid customers and will either offer an exchange for the lesson or, in rare cases of a cancellation, a full refund will be given.

Shows/ Exams and Festivals

We provide these performance opportunities as we feel in it enhances the children’s training. Please note the following:

  • Annual Shows are offered to every single student within Studio B, these are not compulsory but are a great way for parents to see the child’s development and builds their confidence.

  • Exams letters are given out well in advance when and if we feel your child is ready. If staff feel exams are not in the best interest to your child, then we shall email privately explaining our reasons

  • Festivals team is open by invitation only by the Principal/ Appropriate festival staff member.

  • At the end of certain term’s we provide a “watching week” where the parents can observe the lessons. This again will allow the parents to view their child’s progression.

Uniform

At Studio B we do require students to wear the set uniform for any syllabus classes – Ballet/Modern and Tap

There are other lessons such as Street, Acro, MT, contemporary etc which are non- syllabus based classes. For these classes we allow the students to dress and choose their outfits themselves which we feel helps them to develop their own personality and sense of style

The correct uniform is essential and gives the students a sense of belonging and professionalism
